Review of Camera Angles in Movie Choice

Review of Camera Angles  Movie: Inception (2010)  From Producer Christopher Nolan    I chose to comment on a few of the camera angles in the 2010 movie "Inception" because it is my favorite movie and the cinematics in all of Christopher Nolan's movie never fail to amaze to me. This movie fits into the action, thriller, adventure, and science fiction genres. As most films do, Inception uses all of the camera angles that we have been studying, but I chose seven key angles that I think highlight the ones we've been learning about.  In this scene, we see the use of a close up shot of Cobb's watch. The concept of time is very relevant and important in this movie, and this will not be the last time we see a close up of a watch or clock. This close-up just as mentioned in the article we read this week, Different Camera Angles Create Different Emotions, gives you a sense of closeness to the character as well as signifying and symbolizing...

Vieiwing Classmates Storyboards

I chose to view Zoe's and Chelsey's blog as a part of viewing my classmates blogs and identifiying the shots they used in their storyboards. In Zoe's storyboard I concluded that her close up shot, POV shot, and dolly shot were executed terrificly, and captured eveything that they were supposed to. Specifically her POV shot made feel like I was veiwing the school hallwas as Zoe herself. I like how she put her hans and feet in front of the camera to really perfect the feeling I am supposed to take away from the shot. Like the article, "Differnet Camera Angles Create Differnet Emotion", states; a POV shot should make you feel like "you were placed inside the subject's eye and are looking through that window with them..." and I think Zoe's POV did exactly that. After that I viewed Chelsey's storyboard. After watching all of Chelsey's shots, I summed up three shots that I think she did really well. Chelsey's over-the-shoulder, two shot, ...

This is an example of a  Cameo Shot.  In the shot, my friend is filmed against a neutral background. I used a white wall in the dining room of her dorm, to create a neutral backdrop to create the correct visual of a cameo shot.  This is an example of a  Choker Shot.  In this shot, my friend is seen close up showing her face. This shot was slightly awkward to make, because it had to be so close up and it was hard not laugh, and stay serious.  This is an example of a Close Shot . In this shot, my friend is seen from the top of her head to about mid waist. We filmed this at the door of her dorm, being able to get the necessary requirements of the shot. This was quiet easy to shoot and Cyd had fun being a part of it.  This is an example of a  Close Up Shot.  In this shot, I used a candle to capture a close up shot of it's flame.  This is an example of an Establishing Shot. In this shot I filmed the dorm hallway to establish loca...
