Weeks 4 and 5 Filming

 BLOG POST ONE: Lights, Camera, Action!

This is Jess and I prepping to film the opening shot of the iPhone. This was a fun first take and we got to share a few laughs shooting this. We used Jess's phone as the prop because we were shooting on my phone. We realized Jess's wallpaper was not appropriate for the action vibe we were trying to give off with the opening scene. We had to change the picture a few times until we really found the one we liked. Jess was a big help during all of this because we had to improvise at the last minute. The other person we were going to film with unfortunately got Corona so Jess and I had to come up with a new plot and we just had each other to film and act. 

This is me taking a water break because it was so hot outside, but this hoodie is my favorite so I kept it on. This is where we started to film the driving scenes which took place in the parking lot of my complex. I had some props with me, aka my Nerf or nothing blaster. Seconds after this picture was taken I spilled the water in my cup all over the ground and all over my storyboard lol. 


Blog Post Two: Bloopers and the Crime Scene 

Jessica and I started filming the cross cutting snipets and heres were it all went down hill. It started to become incredibly windy and we could not stop the storyboard drawings from flying away. We decided it would be a smart idea to put the cup of water on top of the papers to keep them from flying awway. Right idea, wrong cup of water. Two minutes later the cup flew over and the water spilled all over the storyboards. We laughed about it for a good couple minutes and then decided to take pictures of the crime scence lol. As you can see it was a pretty big spill and the storyboards were ruined. We played it off and kept filming and still have some more to do and look over film, but overall the first weeks of filming went really well!

  In the 2013 Marvel film “Agent Carter”, we can see ma ny different film elements  executed  in different ways. In the opening scene, we are seeing a  flashback  which uses a cross cutting technique . Flashbacks depict the personal experience of a character by showing a memory of a previous event and they are often used to "resolve an enigma" later appearing in the film.  The camera cuts back and forth between Agent Carter and Steve Rodger (aka Captain America).  You can hear  sad and suspenseful music in the background, which signals something troubling is about to take place. The Study of Mise-En-Scene in "Split"

   I chose to comment on the mise-en-scene of the M. Night Shyamalan movie, “Split”.  I chose this film because I never got the chance to view it yet, but by from the preview I could tell that I can write a lot  about the mise-en-scene of it because of how good the trailer was. I also chose this film because Mrs.Henerson's interest of the director and how well produced his other movies are.  Setting: The movie has several settings, but I focused on three main settings. The "Bunker" where Kevin's victims are being kept, the therapists office, and anywhere outside the bunker and office. The bunker/underground setting was beyond detailed oriented and realistic, making the movie all the more interesting and life like. It feels like you are there yourself just because of how everything is placed, and decorated to seem so real.
